While she's not the blossoming social butterfly other girls are, Miki is not unkind. She can, however, be openly critical and sometimes a tad bit blunt (traits inherited from a family that has no filter for constructive criticism) with people she becomes close to. She has a love for alternative music but doesn't cling to one genre. She's a movie and t.v. buff but don't ask her anything about Broadway because all she knows is that it's a theater in New York. Besides photography and a love for visual entertainment, she has an affinity for cooking.

Don't ever try one of her pastries, sweets or cookies if you want to live. Bless her, she keeps trying but she's horrible at it.

It would be good for her to have a few new friends so she doesn't have to stick to the gossipy crowd over at the Yearbook Club.

Never been kissed is her status and she considers herself in a state of sexual limbo. Miki hasn't labeled herself heterosexual because she's never had a boyfriend or a boy openly interested in her at all. She's also a believer in that humans have different levels of heterosexuality and homosexuality (which explains why she's trying to perfect the Kinsey Scale in her head) so if a girl shows interest in her it wouldn't be cause for disgust or embarrassment.

Those rumors about her and Suzy Pepper (which stemmed from helping her get to an ambulance after that whole black pepper incident in 9th grade) are as much action as she's seen (supposedly).

She's single and, as cheesy as it sounds, ready to mingle.

Someone somewhere is bound to hate her, or at least dislike her. Just as Miki has a loathing of slushies and the gargantuan football players that stalk about tossing them in people's faces, someone in the school should dislike her. Whether it be because of something catty and shallow or because of a wrong perception of the girl, no one in high school leaves unscathed by the hatred of others. She'll deal with it the way she knows how: run away and hide out with a stack of bento boxes.

She's a determined girl, but she's not exactly brave.

OHAI THUR. First of all, Miki sounds absolutely fabulous and I love her. I have a special place in my heart for OCs because I've always played them on Glee RP sites. Kurt's my first canon since I started 7ish months ago, so yeah. Props to you! NOW INTO THE MEAT OF IT- I think Kurt would be a little intimidated at first with Miki's blunt nature that seems parallel to his own. It sounds funny, but they could bond over their honesty and criticism? Ooh, Kurt would try to convert her throw some movies her way. Probably start with something more mainstream like RENT as a start? Oh, so she's in yearbook? Kurt would definitely try to work with her to make a kick-ass New Direction's page to blow everyone's mind and not have them sharpie marker over it. Kurt likes to surround himself with inspiring people. If Miki's that passionate about her photography, he'd definitely support that. "When I'm editor of my own magazine someday, I'll hire you." I really, really like these icons. I mean REALLY.

I do like the idea of someone who would be as vocal as her (once she gets in her comfort zone, which is the main difference between them; she needs one, he doesn't). She wouldn't be at the level of Mercedes who I chalk up as being the female equivalent of Kurt (oh if only she'd had better a better arc that just tots in S.2!).

If you'd like to use Yearbook Club as a means for them to meet, you could have Kurt ask her (or leave her an anonymous letter in her locker) requesting her appearance at the Choir Room or something like that. Miki's natural curiosity should override the built-in sense of self-preservation all humans have. We could also have them at Sanpuku, the Yashida's restaurant near the bowling alley in Lima. Obviously you decide if Kurt's become pro-active about getting the Glee Club's popularity up or if it was something he thought of at the moment.

I really like the idea of them becoming acquaintances and then, at least, good friends because Miki needs someone to just push her off the trampoline of shyness. Maybe kicking her off would work as well.

Oh god you have no idea how the tots thing bothered me. there was an attempt characterization and development in night of neglect, but BAH. and then what the fuck were the writers thinking just throwing samcedes at us? they're cute, but... it was just... there. nahmean? The anonymous letter in choir room intrigues me, we could do that further down the line. Do we necessarily have to RP them meeting for the FIRST time? Can they like... be 'oh I know you by name but I don't really talk to you' and Kurt breaks the nice by seeing her at the restaurant and striking up a conversation about yearbook and what not? how does that sound? Well yeah. Being Yearbook Photographer she would have helped with the 2010-2011 year-book photographs and Kurt, while being a diva, probably has better memory of passing people than most others (I'm assuming out of my butt here since I don't know if you've given him that characterization). I'll make the thread in the Around Lima board (so I can give an accurate description of the place. I'll make it so Kurt is Miki's last customer for her shift and he can hold her up to talk about stuff. Also I'm interested in having Miki have a curiosity about the Glee Club which will evolve and possible end in her auditioning to join! Kurt would be a great starting point and maybe lead to another thread where she invites him to hear her sing and give her pointers.
