MR. KENTARO JUN FURUKAWA

" Do I just speak into the microphone? Alright. Ahem I am Kentaro Jun Furukawa and it's, approximately, 10:34 am on August 12th, 2010. I am currently fifteen, a sophomore at Carmel High School and a new member of Vocal Adrenaline. It's the soul sucking show choir that I'm sure is still around thirty years from now. Don't tell Goolsby I said that. If you find more videos of me in this time capsule, it's probably just me humming an Omarion or Usher song. I've been known to blow up the chemistry classroom from time to time. Chemicals hate me... "
" It's my first year as a member of Vocal Adrenaline and yet I've been able to fulfill my academic responsibilities well. Call it arrogance or stupidity but the thought of letting someone from the Isaac Newton-Science Union do my homework leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Plus, most of them are Asian and the Asian community is tight-knit; I'd never get away with it. Also, I'm not like the rest of these VA clones and drones. I need to actually learn something here and short of enrolling at that all boy's school in Westerville, Carmels' the best place to study. Although, I'm thanking my lucky stars my parents decided to live in Akron and not Lima. At least Akron has more than one mall. Hmm, what? Fears, goals? Well... I'm terrified of spiders. I'm not afraid to say that because I know how to distinguish a rubber imitation from an actual eight-legged freak of nature. I would like to own my own public relations company, maybe manage a couple of singers or broadway hopefuls. It's why I've taken Economy and Psychology as part of my electives. Working in show choir will expose me a little bit to being in the limelight. I'm not much of an actor, and I don't think lying through your teeth is acting anyways...Something personal? A secret? Please, I'm fifteen and a sophomore, like I'd fall for that. Eh? Fine. I guess a secret I could part with is going out to check the com- graphic novel emporium every once in a while. But it's only for the really gory manga, ok?! What else? I'm a counter-tenor and I know how to pop-lock and drop. I suggest we do the same and keep moving this little show."
"Right. My parents moved over-here with my grandparents sometime in 1960-something-or-other. We've been living in Ohio and the three generations of our family are pretty close to each other; in physical distance I mean. My aunt married into the Yashida family, and they're living in that little cow-filled town called Lima, and my father decided to bring an old girlfriend over from Japan. That lovely woman, Ai, gave birth to little ol' me. We currently live in the Springshire Suburbs but I'm sure in twenty or thirty years this will all be known in my biography. I hope someone makes a film of it. I had a private tutor until I was in about third grade, when my father convinced my mother it'd be better to have me socialized. A week later I kicked a kid in the stomach for dirtying my slacks. What? All children are barbaric at some point in their childhood. I grew out of it. My father, being the fine insurance salesman that he was, secured several things for us: a house, two cars, our cats Mai and Ashiya as well as our dog Dim. He never could find the time to just be with us. I always did everything with my mother: go to movies, grocery shopping and that sort of thing. My father would talk to me during dinner, help me with my homework and sometimes give me a 'Father/Son' chat but other than that we hardly ever looked at each other. Mom thinks it's - it was- partly because of his job. At least in his grave he won't have to worry much about it. Heart attacks sometimes rob you of having to worry about life, seeing as they can leave you without it. We still have his picture over the fireplace and Mom works enough to cover everything we need; that 401k and life insurance help as well. It's a good thing I've just entered high school, though. I can focus on my studies and hopefully get out of this state. You know, this time-capsule thing helped. I should go visit Dad... it's only been six months or so.... "
" Chii here with, yet another, Japanese character. I am so incredibly insane right now. At least it's an Akron resident."
