She was sipping her Caramel Macchiato. Whoever created this coffee drink was a pure genius. She would take this beverage any day over anything. Even over liquor, okay maybe that was pushing it. But this was still really tasty and was sure to supply Mercedes with energy and life. Well not enough energy to be a bit overbearing like Rachel, but still enough to make her very friendly. She took a sip as she played with her bracelet. Usually she glammed up with tons of bling but she didn’t have time this morning. Either that or she was just too tired. Who was the genius who thought of making school start so early? It was like they were asking for kids to fall asleep in class and doze off. If only they had afternoon classes instead. But maybe it was a good thing it started early. That way they had time after school to do whatever they wanted. And this Friday afternoon would be epic.
Mercedes had been looking forward to this afternoon for a while. She would be meeting her good friend, Winchester, or Winnie as she called him today. He went to Dalton but he was going to drive all the way to Downtown Lima just to see her. It was very sweet but it meant nothing more than a friendly gesture. She knew he didn’t see her in that sort of way. Why would he like her more than a friend when he looked at all these other girls? But yet something about him attracted her to him. He was such a sweet guy, someone who wouldn’t take advantage of her. Someone who seemed to genuinely care. And how shy he was around girls was the sweetest thing ever. He also always called her beautiful and told her to ignore what others said. But maybe he was just trying to be a good friend. It wouldn’t surprise her if that was all that was going on. She had a crush on him, but she wasn’t willing to let anyone know. She couldn’t let anyone know, especially him. She didn’t want to ruin their friendship. What if he didn’t like her back, or what if he did and it didn’t work out? In the long run it probably wasn’t even worth it, which was what she had to tell herself whenever she was around him.
But despite that she still felt jealous around him. Something she managed to hide very easily. Of course she wasn’t offended if he didn’t like her, after all there were so much prettier out there. And he was confused. He wasn’t sure whether he liked boys or girls. That was one reason why she requested to meet him here. So she could see who he found attractive, who was “his type”. To see if she would ever have a chance with him. She took a sip as she dazed off a bit in her thoughts. Something she tended to do a lot, after all she was always more of a dreamer than a reality girl. She was so out of it she didn’t even notice if anyone entered Starbucks. these dry bones cry for you |

Winchester !?
He wasn’t on time- it seemed his parents had in fact neglected to teach him something, one thing in which he could make a list of pros and cons. Punctuality. Only today, rather than disappointing his parents, he was disappointed a very special lady. He had met her weeks ago, yet couldn’t remember who had made the first move. He had seen her from across the room, and instantly thought she was fairly pretty, when she looked at him and smiled that was all it took. Now hold up there partner, Mercedes Jones wasn’t a love interest, no matter how beautiful he thought she was, purely friendship is what lied under his skin. With that in mind, he was planning on meeting this girl at Starbucks, his mind races on all the possible reasons why she wanted to see him. It kind of made him nervous knowing that she knew about him and his… sexuality issues, so much to the point that he was jittery around her, but that was normal for a struggling teenager, wasn’t it? Brushing ebon bangs from his eyes, Winchester took in his surroundings. He blended in well enough here, and thankfully he didn’t feel like a total outcast. Seeing as he was from a possible rival school things like that mattered to him, no need to be caught on the opponents turf. Rather than looking as awkward as he felt, he blended well and that was good. Upon his slightly muscular torso was as maroon vee neck, one in which was bought years back, and slightly faded due to the wash. Upon that shirt was another layer, this one an unbuttoned button down, that fit him well and made him look less intimidating. Upon his legs were slightly tight pants, not enough to really be considered skinny jeans but tight enough that it showed him off just enough, you know? To top off this look were a rather worn pair of combat boots, a pair of boots in which he wore with just about anything and everything, fore they were from his sister, and it was the only thing he really had to remember her by. The laces were slightly frayed, and the tongue jutted outwards, but he loved them just the same. With his strikingly handsome face and what could be described as dangerous blue eyes, he was one in a million, that was for sure. Walking swiftly he soon reaches his destination. Sucking in a breath, he enters the Starbucks with caution, his eyes drifting from one movement to the next before he finally stops on the dark skinned girl. They were polar opposites, he decides, him being as white as a ghost and her being as dark as hot chocolate, but that was just another thing to add to their friendship. Moving his arm in a half wave, he moves towards the counter and orders himself a bottled drink, not really knowing if they’d be going somewhere. Once he pays, he moves easily towards her, a rather crooked, half smile upon his face. When he finally does stop beside where he sat, he raises an eyebrow before cautiously asking, ‘` may I sit? ‘` his voice was warm and friendly as he waits for a reply. . click for outfit !? |

He looked the same as usual, pale white as a ghost with dark hair that mostly covered his eyes. They looked like complete opposites. Chocolate and Vanilla. Both were good separate but were even more perfect when together. Like chocolate and vanilla swirl soft serve. Now that was some good stuff. So basically the two formed an ice cream that people paid for. She gave a small smile at the mere thought of them being associated with ice cream. With people being compared to food in general. It reminded her of the time when she was basically starving herself and started to see the whole school as people in food outfits. It was definitely a weird day, but nothing out of the ordinary considering how Mercedes usually drifted off a lot and thought of pretty weird things. She examined his outfit, not as fashionable at Kurt but then again Mercedes never really met anyone to top Kurt’s fashion. Plus he looked pretty attractive today. She shook those thoughts out of her head, she couldn’t think of a friend in that way. She didn’t want to ruin things with him before their friendship even took off.
Mercedes smiled as he gave her one of those wicked shy half waves. One which she returned with a normal wave. She wanted to kind of do an over-the-top wave but she had a feeling that would embarrass the poor thing and she wasn’t going to be that mean to him. Mercedes watched as he came over with those piercing blue eyes. The ones that always looked amazing. She always got lost in the eyes just because they were so pretty and attracting. His eyes were one of the first thing she noticed about him. Eyes was usually one feature she always noticed in a guy. After all you could tell a lot about the mood of a person just by their eyes. Whether they seem in pain or upset. Or maybe if they are happy or admiring something. Mercedes always wished she had blue eyes, much more unique than her brown eyes. She once again stopped herself from admiring his eyes too much, because she couldn’t get a crush on him. What she wanted out of him was friendship, that was all. And she was pretty sure that was all he wanted from her also.
She smiled and rolled her eyes amused when he asked to sit there. “Well I did ask you to come, didn’t I?” she asked with a smile. He was such a polite and shy boy, she found it absolutely adorable. He was such a gentlemen and so different from most guys these days. That was one thing that appealed to Mercedes. “But of course, go ahead.” She said kindly motioning to the chair. She took another drink, maybe coffee wasn’t good for her with all this energy and it may give her strange dreams, but she had a craving. “So how are you? How’re things at Dalton?” she asked him starting off with some small talk before she got to the serious stuff. Before they started to learn more about each other and talk about personal issues. Before she would help with his sexuality and stuff. After all she wanted to help, she hated seeing her friends hurt or confused. And anything to make this boy’s life much more simple was good enough for her. these dry bones cry for you |
