Life had taken Laney Anderson many places in her life time, many stages of which she had to go through, forks in the road of which she had to maneuver around in some odd way. Her husbands secret abuse towards her was one of them, one of the more permanent ones, she had thankfully been able to shield her son from seeing or knowing about things that happened when he wasn't around. It was better that Blaine didn't know and she was only hoping that he would never find out for any reason what so ever.
Her heart began to race the more she got ready for this ice skating event that Blaine and herself were going to today. The bruises from last nights beating was vibrant and they seemed to have a life of their own. He was definitely going to find out, that's what she kept telling herself, their was a bruise on the side of her neck and it was something that she couldn't hide with make-up or clothing. Laney sighed, she began to do what she could to cover the other bruises. At least her son wouldn't know about those unless he somehow could see through clothing now. Which would be creepy in its own right.
The more she thought about things the more she felt she would need to come clean to Blaine about what was really going on when he wasn't around. She feared what he would think of her because she hadn't told him, she felt that he would love her less and maybe leave and never come back. She was going to suck up her own emotions and fears until the matter was brought up by Blaine of when Laney finally got the guts to tell Blaine herself of what his father did to her

Blaine had more or less written today off as one of those wasted days of summer. He had no obligations, his boyfriend in Lima was working, and most of his good friends in the Warblers were on family vacations. It was not an entirely awful situation, as the teenage dream figured he could use the day to just rest and relax, as evident by the fact that it was 2 PM in the afternoon and he was still in pajama bottoms. It was about that time that his mother suggested that the two of them go ice-skating. At first, Blaine had been somewhat hesitant. The two of them used to do that all the time when Blaine was little, but not for a long time. Certainly not since Blaine had come out.
Unlike many teenage boys, however, the curly-haired Warbler did not scoff at the idea of spending time with his mommy. The truth was, Blaine missed the days when things were nice and easy in his family. His mother had never made the questionably homophobic comments that his Dad had, but they had certainly drifted apart over the past few years. Perhaps he had an idealized version of his childhood in his head, but he did not remember things being so hard, and so distant.
Putting on a pair of Gucci jeans (courtesy of Kurt, of course), and a red Polo, Blaine texted his boyfriend to alert him of the day's activity, before grabbing a hold of his ice skates. Meeting his mother in the foyer, he gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. "It's been a while since we've gone ice skating. I'm not in trouble am I?" he asked with a boyish grin. The truth was, Blaine was, at best, a medicore ice skater. Despite his mother's considerable effort, that particular characteristic evidently skipped a generation.
Feeling a vibration in his pocket, he pulled out his phone, reading a text message from his paramour. Blaine smiled, before looking back to his mother, "Oh, Kurt says to tell you 'Hi' for him. He's working at his Dad's garage today." Blaine explained. The mental image of Kurt working in a car garage was still amusing to the Warbler. The boy who could not be seen in public in anything less than a designer brand had to wear the less than glamorous jumpsuit of a mechanic. Of course, that just made Blaine love him all the more. "You ready to go?"

Laney was looking forward to the mother/son bonding time it had been awhile since they had last spent time together and she was happy that Blaine was allowing her this time to spend with him, without randomly asking why she was so interested or some other question that would leave her to explain that she merely just wanted to spend time with him, she might just drag Blaine to a movie after depending on what he felt like after ice skating, she just hoped that nothing severe happened to Blaine because she had on numerous occasions noted that he wasn't that good at skating, she still would continue to teach him until he actually was able to do it at least enough to not fall and break bones. Laney wouldn't put it past her own ability to skate to screw up somewhere and fall and hurt herself, she may be under the age of forty, but she wasn't as young as she used to be.
Blaine being a homosexual and having a guy for a boyfriend didn't seem to bother Laney, she had her experiences too every once in awhile where she would make-out with girls, it wasn't uncommon, but it was much harder for her husband to understand then her. Laney would love Blaine regardless of what his sexual orientation was, it was her job to support him, but she did blame herself that she had been so distant over the last few years ever since he came out. It may have given him the impression that she didn't accept him for who he was. Seeing her son, Laney smiled. The kiss on the cheek made her feel loved as a parent. It wasn't often she felt loved at least by some of the men in this family except Blaine of coarse. "Of coarse not, unless you did something wrong and you need to be in trouble" She raised her eyebrow.
Inside of her head, Laney was mentally debating on telling Blaine why she had been so distant and maybe explaining to him what was going on with his father, Blaine was old enough to understand and to comprehend what was going on, although she had longed to protect him from what she was going to tell him, she wasn't going to continue treating him like a child when he was old enough to understand. "Tell him, I said Hello. We could drive to Lima to see him, but I'm not sure my sorry excuse for a car would last all the way to Lima" She smiled. "Yeah, I guess, I was thinking maybe taking you to a movie after permitting that neither of us get seriously injured" She smiled as she opened the door and began to walk our the bag with her skates in it; in her hand.

Blaine grinned as his mother assured him that he was not in trouble, assuming he had not done anything to warrant a punishment. Of course, in Blaine's opinion, he had done nothing wrong, but sometimes a parents' perception of wrong was different than a teenager's idea. compared to most of his peers, Blaine knew he was a relative angel. Sure, once in a blue moon he dabbled with alcohol, but that was an extremely rare event. In fact, since that debacle when he made out with Rachel and woke up in Kurt's bed. Okay, perhaps Blained was not going to be canonized any time soon, but he still had a pretty good head on his shoulders. "Something wrong, me? Never," he assured her with a boyish grin.
The curly-haired boy shook his head when his mother mentioned driving out to see Kurt in Lima. As much as Blaine wished they were able to spend more time as a couple, it was unnecessary. Besides, he was actually looking forward to spending some time with his Mom. It would only be a year until he was off to college, hopefully in some place exciting like New York City or Los Angeles. After that, his opportunities to rekindle the closeness that once existed with both parents would dwindle significantly. He did have to make the most of this year. "It's alright. Besides, I don't think Kurt would want for you to see him in the jumpsuit he wears for work. He was mortified the first time I showed up."
Blaine grinned just thinking about Kurt, and even more so that his mother was taking some interest. He tended to hide the relationship from his Dad. In fact, he was not even sure if Mr. Anderson knew that Blaine had a boyfriend, which was probably for the better, frankly. He had made it clear to Blaine that he did not exactly approve of who and what he was, so how the man would react if his son was dating someone as, frankly, fabulous as Kurt was up in the air. He had mentioned Rachel to Blaine before, knowing that the two of them had sent some time together, which cause the boy to shudder. Rachel was a perfectly nice, and talented, girl, and maybe if he were straight there woulf be a possibility, but, well, there were certain anatomical issues there.
"A movie sounds," Blaine said, pausing for a moment. He wanted to see Friends with Benefits, but that seemed liked a terrible film to see with one's mother. "I actually haven't seen the new Harry Potter yet, if you can believe that." Entering the passenger side door, he strapped the seatbelt around his torso and smiled. This was going to be good.

There was a need for her to spend time with her son, it was something she just wasn't going to deny herself this time. Her husband had got in her way to many times and now it was time she took back control and metaphorically stick her middle finger up in defense, enough crazy thinking though, there was skating to do and a movie to go see, and a car to buy, although she was going to get that later on, when Blaine wasn't with her later on meaning a few weeks from now, or something. "Better be, after all your my golden child, and the only child mind you and if you ever got into trouble, don't think I wont take you over my knee and beat your butt, your still young enough for me to do so" She admitted with a small smile. "You have never been in any trouble, which is a good thing, and I am very proud of you" Laney added, she genuinely was proud of everything her son did with his life and everything he was becoming. She had raised him well no matter what her husband said.
The mere thought of Blaine leaving for college petrified her, no one wanted to see their child go off to college, but Blaine was in a year and Laney had yet to start preparing herself for the dreaded word she would have to say, she felt she might go clinically insane once Blaine left but she wanted to make the most of the time that she had left with him before her boy became a man, she knew that he already was a young man, but him going off to college would only certify it in her mind. Hearing how Kurt was mortified when Blaine had seen him in his jumpsuit at work, Laney let out a soft chuckle as she got in and started the car. "I'm sure he looks just as dapper as he always looks, I mean the boy has style and he is a fine young man and I'm glad your dating him" She smiled. "I might have to go down there then, to give him a pep-talk of some kind on how dapper he looks 24/7 and that he shouldn't be so mortified, I doubt it would work though."
"Surprise, Surprise. The boy wonder hasn't seen the newest potter film" She smirked only making fun of him because he hadn't seen it. "If you can believe it, I already have." She admitted again. Laney sighed for a moment. "Okay then, Harry Potter it is, although before we get to busy, I think we should talk about something concerning your father and everything that has gone on" Laney looked at Blaine with a serious expression then began to drive to the ice rink. "I am afraid that you may not be thrilled about what I am going to tell you, in fact this is something I have protected you from since you were small and since it all started." Laney took a heavy breath and then paused before she went any further.
